Austin O'Connell NBA Spreads (and the NBA) are back! This year has been quite the journey. It is crazy to think that a New Year is just around the corner. I am here to give you my 3 favorite NBA spreads to bet on December 29th. Let’s hop right into it!
7:10 Tipoff
Celtics (-0.5) vs. Pacers, O/U: 218.5
Pick: Celtics -0.5
These teams just played each other and the Pacers won by 1 on a last second shot. Currently, the Celtics are 1-2, Pacers are 3-0. The Pacers are not a good enough team to beat the Celtics twice in a row. Brad Stevens is the better coach and he will make the right adjustments to win this game. Celtics win and cover.
8:10 Tipoff:
Magic (-5) at Thunder, O/U: 217.5
Pick: Thunder+5
I grew up outside of Orlando so I’ve watched the Magic more than I wish I had. Fresh off a 3-0 start to their season, the Magic are looking good with victories over the Heat and Wizards (twice). The Thunder are 1-1 and many expect them to be pretty bad this year. But, they have looked better than people thought led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. This is 100% a game that the Magic lose outright which is why I am on Thunder+5. That wouldn’t surprise me one bit because it’s what they do. I’ll take Thunder with the points, but I expect Thunder ML to cash as well. Good luck!

Pelicans at Suns (-3), O/U: 222
Pick: Under 222
I know, it wouldn’t be an ‘NBA Spreads’ article without me not taking a spread. The O/U is still just as good and just as profitable. Both of these teams play slow and don’t shoot a lot of 3’s. This O/U would be 3-0 for both teams this year and when they match up on Tuesday night, it will become 4-0. Take the under.
