March Madness Guide to a Winning Bracket

March Madness Guide

Our March Madness Guide to Win Your Bracket Tournament

If you need a March Madness Guide to beat your friends, family, or co-workers in your Bracket Challenge, look no further. In this article, I will outline several teams that I think have what it takes to make a deep run in the tournament. Oh and as always, there will be upsets! In this guide, we will breakdown the safe plays, as well as some teams that I believe are flying under the radar. Let’s take a look…

The Can’t lose pick: Gonzaga

There’s a reason Gonzaga is the odds-on favorite to win the tournament. They have the most complete team in the tournament, and haven’t lost a single-game. If you pick Gonzaga to win it all, you are for sure a “play it safe” type of person. There’s nothing wrong with that, but if you want some picks to set you out from the crowd, keep reading.

The Team I like way too much: Purdue

Purdue plays a physical, wear-you-down style of basketball that I absolutely love. They play primarily through their stud big-man Trevion Williams. Their bracket region is highly competitive with flashier teams like Ohio State and Baylor in the region, but I believe their suffocating defense and sound basketball will surprise their opponents. I personally have them advancing as far as the national-championship game, which should tell you just how much I love them. They are my #1 team that is flying under the radar. Watch out for the Boilermakers to come out of the South Region into the Final Four.

The Double Digit Seed with the best chance to make the Final Four: Syracuse

Syracuse is a blue blood program, and it feels weird to see them as an 11 seed. They had an up and down year, but I believe their offense has the best chance out of the double-digit seeds to carry them to a deep tournament run. Led by Buddy Boeheim, the Orange can absolutely shoot the lights out. Looking at the Midwest bracket, Illinois and Houston don’t scare me one bit. I see a clear path for a deep Syracuse run. They will need some luck, but it’s March Madness. Anything is possible.

The 2 Non-Power 5 Teams to watch:

1) Loyola Chicago

If you’re a casual college basketball fan, you may or may not remember the magical season Loyola Chicago had three years ago. They made the final four as an 11 seed. The internet was infatuated by Sister Jean and this school that no one had ever heard of. While the Ramblers might be better known, they have a great team-chemistry and they can upset an over-hyped Illinois team in the second round. Look for Loyola Chicago to ride their stud, Cameron Krutwig, to a deep title run.

2) Winthrop

If you’ve never heard of the Winthrop Eagles, don’t be alarmed, you are not alone. Winthrop enters the tournament with the second best record at 23-1. They boast 4 double digit scorers. The Eagles play fast, boasting the 11th fastest pace in the nation, whereas Villanova boasts the 320th fastest (or slowest) pace in the nation. If the Eagles can control the glass against Villanova as they are accustomed to doing night in and night out, they could and should upset Villanova. Watch out for Winthrop.
